You can be like everyone else and do things normally; you may just need some therapy in order to make that happen.
If you believe that you can’t do things normally, you won’t. However, if you understand that it is your OCD that is interfering with your ability to do things in a socially acceptable way, then you are a step ahead of people who have given up hope.
Excellent therapies are available for OCD and can help you get back to the life that you led before the OCD became a burden. It is very possible to get back to that level of functioning, you just need to believe that you can get there, and you need to work hard at overcoming your OCD.
There is no reason that you cannot return to that level of functioning if you follow through with what your therapist asks you to do.
