There have been no recorded instances of anybody on earth being killed by a meteorite.
A meteorite is a natural object that originates from outer space, and have been found on the Moon and Mars.
Meteorites can be classified into three broad categories:
- stony meteorites are rocks, mainly composed of silicate minerals.
- iron meteorites are largely composed of metallic iron-nickel.
- stony-iron meteorites contain large amounts of both metallic and rocky material.
