Why Does the United States Still Print a Two Dollar Bill and Which President Is On the Two Dollar Bill?

Despite public indifference and the hostility of storekeepers, whose registers don’t have a compartment for them, $2 bills are still alive, barely.

According to the U.S. Government Bureau of Engraving and Printing, at last count there were 583,045,729 in circulation worldwide.

Former President Thomas Jefferson is featured on the obverse of the two dollar bill, and the reverse features a reproduction of the painting The Declaration of Independence by John Trumbull.
