Numerous research studies for OCD are ongoing.
One easy way to find out what studies are currently recruiting participants would be to go to the Obsessive Compulsive Foundation website www.ocfoundation.org and click on the tab that says “Research Participants Sought” under the heading “Information & Resources” on the right side of the page.
The OCF keeps a list of research studies focused on OCD, and it also awards grants each year to fund new studies of OCD.
The website of the National Institute of Mental Health also lists studies seeking OCD participants. NIMH also gives out research grants to individuals investigating OCD. Only through continued research will we learn more about OCD, find better ways to treat it, and learn how it works in the brain.
Offering to participate in these studies can go a long way toward the development of more effective treatments.
