Can I get unemployment benefits if I quit my job?

July 1, 2014 by Karen Hill | Filed Under: Law

Usually, if you quit your job, you will not qualify for unemployment benefits.

However, there are two exceptions to this rule. If you quit due to a legitimate medical need, which is supported by your doctor, or you quit due to sexual harassment that the employer refuses to stop, then you may be able to receive unemployment benefits anyway.
