If anything can survive a nuclear holocaust, it’s the cockroach, but even its chances of surviving a nuclear blast are slim.
For starters, although there are a few roach varieties that are the exception, cockroaches don’t live well in temperatures much below freezing.
That is why they are a household pest in so many places: they move into human dwellings to find warmth, as well as food and water.
Without these three things, the cockroach won’t survive.
But did you know that a cockroach can live without its head for a time?
A headless roach can’t drink, though, so it dies within a week or so from dehydration.
