Yes. Courts have found that an agreement between an employer and employee that includes a choice of law is legal. While the courts do review each party’s connection to that state, courts will rarely change the terms of an agreement between parties.
In your case the employer selected the law of the state where the home office, and probably the corporate legal department, reside. When you signed the non-compete document, you agreed to be bound by its terms, including choice of venue for any future legal actions.
