There are some really silly holidays in the United States that we don’t really hear much about.
In an effort to glean support from government officials and money from consumers, all sorts of commercial boards and associations have set up “official holidays” or honorary months for their products.
The Snack Food Association, for one, celebrates National Snack Food Month in February.
The goal of the holiday, according to the association, is to make consumers aware of how healthy snack foods can be.
Potato Day is August 19.
National Pickled Pepper Celebration runs from October 1 to 31.
National Pizza with the Works Except Anchovies Day? That’s on November 12.
