Before your telephone hearing, your attorney will speak with you regarding the details of you leaving your job. Your attorney will then provide you with a strategy, including what will be asked at the hearing and the arguments that will be used on your behalf.
Prior to the telephone hearing, discovery documents and evidence will be shared with the opponent and the administrative law judge. The administrative law judge will get all parties, their attorneys, and their witnesses on a conference call. Attorneys may be allowed to make opening statements.
The judge will ask you and the employer questions, and then allow the attorneys to ask questions of their clients and cross-examine the other side. Attorneys will then make their closing statements.
