The story of the ant in Aesop’s fable goes something like this.
On a beautiful summer day, the grasshopper asked the ant to come and play, but the ant said he couldn’t because he needed to lay up food for the winter.
The grasshopper went on his merry way, but come winter he began to starve.
Seeing the ants with plenty of food to pass around, he then learned his lesson.
It is best to prepare in times of plenty for days of necessity.
This is not the only Aesop fable starring an ant.
Aesop was a slave and story-teller who lived in ancient Greece between 620 and 560 B.C., and his fables are some of the most well known in the world.
