One of the best locations to play ice golf is the Arvidsjaur Wintergolf Course in northern Sweden, open annually from February to April.
The place has rustic cabins, a nine-hole course in the Arctic Circle, and reindeer pulling sleds as caddies.
According to its English-language literature:
The 9-hole course is partly located on a lake. It’s prepared with a mobile pist machine to make the ice more frictional.
The result will be a surface with similar qualities as grass.
This unique method, developed by the local organizers, in combination with the Lapland climate and thick lake ice, has created the best ice golf course in the world.
Maybe so, but we suggests watching out for that “mobile pist machine.”
